NFR History

Every year since 1985, Las Vegas has played host to the 'Super Bowl of Rodeos’', the National Finals Rodeo. Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the world, including Canada and South America, come to compete or watch this monumental event. The top riders throughout the year, in seven different rodeo events, are invited to compete for over $8 million in prize money. The NFR takes place over 10 days and is hosted at the Thomas & Mack arena on the campus of UNLV. The top rider over those 10 days is awarded the most prestigious award given out each year, Mr. All-Around Cowboy. The 2005 NFR promises to be one of the most exciting years, as top riders such as Cody Ohl, Trevor Brazile and Fred Whitfield will be heading to Las Vegas.
